Taylor Swift might need to calm down after seeing a video of herself having a mini-meltdown over a banana post-surgery.
Jimmy Fallon surprised the “Lover” singer with a hilarious clip of her after she had laser eye surgery. The video, courtesy of mom Andrea Swift, was aired during the pop star’s appearance Thursday on “The Tonight Show.”
Fallon prompted Swift by asking if she could see him because of her eye surgery, then asked if she was given pain medication afterward.
“They definitely give you some pretty hardcore pills after you have a laser in your eye,” Swift said, starting to get suspicious. “What is going on?”
“Your mom may or may not have videotaped you after surgery, and she gave us the video,” Fallon said.
A shocked Swift asked, “For the television?”
“This is a world premiere, you have to check this out. This is Taylor Swift post-surgery,” Fallon said through giggles. “You were like freaking out over a banana. Anyway, this is Taylor at home after her Lasik surgery, video taken by her mom.”
The video shows a bandaged Swift in the kitchen, holding a banana. “She found a snack,” her mom narrates.
“It wasn’t the one I wanted,” a distressed Swift complains.
“Stop, you can’t cry,” her mom advises.
“I tried to get this one, but what do we do with this now? It doesn’t have a head,” Swift says.
“I’ll eat it,” her mom says. “Honey, it’s fine, it doesn’t need a head.”
The video then cuts to Swift in bed with her banana as her mom cautions her not to fall asleep while eating it.
“I’m not asleep, my mind is alive,” Swift says as the video ends.
Swift, stunned, laughed about the clip.
“I was crying, I think, over a banana,” Swift said. “I can’t even be mad, I’m just impressed you infiltrated my family.”
The 29-year-old singer is set to appear as the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” this week.
